Finalist in the 2026 Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize

Lynda Draper is a finalist in the 2026 Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize at Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf with her sculpture, JET.

Made from ceramic, pigment wax and hand-blown glass, JET draws on fragmented impressions from Draper’s surroundings and her fascination with historical artefacts. Through intuitive form-making and material experimentation, the work moves between the familiar and the strange, the ancient and the imagined. 

Draper’s recent use of glass extends this exploration: where clay shapes form, glass shapes light..

“I’m excited to be a finalist in the 2026 Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize, my twelfth selection since 2007. Looking back over the works I’ve submitted, it has been fascinating to trace the evolution of my practice.”
