Campbelltown Arts Centre presents ‘Lynda Draper | Glimmer’, a survey exhibition celebrating Thirroul-based artist Lynda Draper.

Draper is celebrated as one of Australia’s most innovative ceramic practitioners. Across four decades of practice as an artist and educator, Draper has continued to push the technical limits and aesthetic conventions of ceramics. Resembling papier-mâché, bubble gum, pearl, wax, and paper, her works evoke the tactile and visual fragility of clay, capturing the alchemy and allure of the making process.

Draper’s practice explores the intersection of dreams and reality. Her works draw from memory, life events, and the environment. Her practice is shaped by an interest in material culture and how meaning is ascribed to physical objects.

‘Glimmer’ brings together key bodies of work by Draper, creating a space for contemplation and imagination. Featuring loans from major public institutions and private collections, the exhibition also debuts new works which incorporate glass and bronze for the first time – offering an in-depth exploration of Draper’s practice.
